An 8xxTS error message [where 8xx means any 3-digit number beginning with 8] is a touch screen issue and usually means the user does not have full admin rights on the computer.
The first thing to try is to reboot your laptop, and launch Exam4 again. If the message persists, continue to the next step.
If you do have full admin rights on the computer, then the touch screen failed to disengage. You may need to disable it manually:
To manually disable the Touch Screen on a Windows computer:
- In the search bar, type “Device”
- Select “Device Manager Control Panel” from the pop-up window.
- In the Device Manager window, look for “Human Interface Devices” and click the ">" to show the sublist.
- Right click on each iteration of “HID-compliant touch screen” (there may be more than one) and select “Disable device”
To reverse this later, just follow these steps and choose “Enable device” for each iteration listed.
